Blocs & Bodies at The People's Church.
Inspired by historic holistic health and liberation offerings by the Young Lords and other successive grassroots movements and organizations, a somatic class was designed for community members looking to begin restoring connections to their bodies.
Drawing upon indigenous wisdom and the work of somatic activists, this project took an embodied justice approach to health issues. Rooted in a shared commitment to community activism and holistic healing, Blocs & Bodies joined the Holistic Healing Ministry alongside acupuncture and reiki healing services to support the resilient community of the church in reconnecting with their bodies.
